Paper?

Ugh, so I've begun writing my research paper on the "TIGER" directive. It's an interesting read, I always enjoy seeing people applying knowledge of computers and advancing their fields with them. However, me writing on this subject just sucks. I know what needs to go down and what I need. But, me writing/typing a paper, well I'm by no means an author or even remotely close.

I guess what amuses me the most about this request is that as a nurse(maybe doctor later in my life) is that everything I do will be shorthand and possibly unreadable to most. *sigh* Ah well, I've got a good bit into the writing/typing tonight. Gonna lay it down before my head hits the keyboard and QWERTY becomes my new nickname.

Seeing Things Differently

This will indeed be a weird post for opening my blog back up. Today, September 10th 2010, I was asked to kill a snake in the yard. My wife ran inside and fetched a shovel. I picked up the snake by the tail and examined him. It was merely a small brown garden variety snake, non-poisonous. My wife was adamant about me killing the snake where as I merely wanted to throw it over the fence into the abandoned yard next door.

"But it could crawl back over!" was my wife's retort.

I glided the shovel down upon the snake and ended it's life. I had fought for the snake to live, seeing as it was merely a small snake that would dine on annoying spiders and other bugs that pester me. Silly creature that I am, I began to reflect upon this at work tonight.

A lot of times sin/snakes will crawl in our space. If we choose to merely flick them "over the fence" or ignore them. They will get bigger and more menacing. Sin (and snakes) can bite us when we least expect it. God tells us that we shouldn't live in sin and rightfully so. Always take the time to behead sin and tend to your needs that effect yourself and others.

Sorry for being preachy, just felt the urge to put this down while I was thinking about it.

No More WoW

So, after multiple tries, I'm once again turning off my WoW account. There are several people I will miss playing the game with. However, this will open up so much more time for other things, including my family. Hopefully this will turn out for the best.

Alive!

Yay! I made it through the week of nothing but tests, tests, tests. I had a recital in Piano on Wednesday, an exam in Nutrition on Thursday and a recital on Friday in Guitar. So far a C in Nutrition and an A in Guitar. I think I also got an A or B in Piano but am unable to confirm so far.

I'm still working on my application packet for Nursing which is due in three or four weeks. *Almost Complete* I need to go and have my fingerprints done by the sheriff's office. Waiting on my shot records to appear in the mail at my house, update my shots with the school and Nursing center. Then I need to buy the two money orders for the school.

The physical was complete and I came out top notch (even though I'm overweight by 110 lbs). My TB/PPD test came out negative (yay). My psych evaluation was perfect too. Grades are yet to be processed, but I've got them submitted.

Lucky me, the day after I took my physical/psych/TB tests, I came down with the flu. Not sure which kind (probably standard), the doctor/nurses were unpleasant (though to be fair I did show up at the last minute *shrugs*). I have a dream of opening an after hours clinic, which will charge roughly twice what a normal clinic would, which sadly is less than the five to ten times charge you would pay at a hospital for an ER visit. I mean come on, how many times have you been sick during the day when the normal clinics are open?! We could perform as a normal clinic would and if it were serious we could always send to the hospital as needed.

Walgreens is open 24/6ish-7 why shouldn't a clinic be? It's not like you say, "okay now is an appropiate time for me to be sick so I can go to the normal clinic...

Anyways, I'm on my way... :-3 I'll try and keep you posted. Love you all.

Guitar Update

Today (well yesterday) we worked on playing "Margaritaville" and "Love Me Do". I think I have "Love Me Do" down. Can't wait for this Friday (another guitar test, woohoo). I have to play 12 bar blues by memory. *crosses fingers*

Short Stories Update

If you enjoy just totally random short stories.... I just posted a new one.
http://pallyman.blogspot.com

I got to looking at it and realized I tied it in with a previous story. Sadly I did not do it on purpose but *shrug*. I have such a weird writing style. I complained just today that stories are hard to come by and my imagination is disappearing and what do you know? Out of the blue, this came to me. Well at least I'm happy now. I hate getting a story in my head and then losing it because I couldn't put it down on some form of media. I hope you enjoy it!

Ta da!

So... life has come and gone. Sorry for the lack of posts. Clinical application came available on Friday the fourth, so all my time is on school and not much of anything else. I'm currently in piano/guitar/biology/nutrition M-F in the early morning. My work schedule was worked over and now I work (at night still) and only have Sunday/Mondays off. However, I am working with my boss to move to a four day work week if he can get all the kinks worked out. Then I would have Sunday-Tues off, which would be great. I still play World of Warcraft ocassionally, still stuck on my druid. We currently have a house guest staying with us this week, Ms. Kitty. She is leaving out Friday to return back to Borississippi. It has been nice having her visit though. More to come hopefully in more posts rather than once a month or year...
